In the depths of my heart I truly know

your word is a shield to me.

When the battle is raging all around

your word is my victory.

          Your words are a strength to my life    

          As onward in faith I go.

          Through good and bad, I know

          you’ll be there to comfort and to guide.

          You’ll be there right by my side.

 

The world rejects your words of life,

they are drowning in their sin.

They mock and scorn blaspheme your name

and refuse to let you in.

 

To honour your word is to honour you

for you and your word are one.

You sent forth your word in the form of flesh

your only begotten son.
